About us
Who we are
Who’s behind Jupette & Salopette?
I’m Claudie. I’m 45 and come from the Nantes region. Passionate about photography, travel and board sports (especially roller dance and skateboarding), I love to explore the world and draw positive inspiration from it.
I share my life with Antony, my husband, and together we love discovering new horizons and meeting other cultures. This passion has led us to plan a one-year round-the-world trip between 2022 and 2023. More than landscapes or experiences to tick off, we prefer human encounters and shared moments. We are also very aware of the need to travel and consume in a more responsible, authentic and less touristy way.
Blog history
Jupette & Salopette was born in 2017 as a very personal space. In it, I shared my thoughts and daily life, particularly on a subject that’s still too taboo: not wanting children.
Over time, the blog has evolved and opened up to other themes: travel, of course, but also passions, inspiring encounters and reflections on our lifestyles.
With this evolution, new doors have opened, enriching and inspiring. In particular, I was able to develop my skills and explore new formats, which enabled me to express myself as a columnist on television and radio.
I’ve also joined the Blogs à l’Ouest collective, with four other bloggers who are passionate about the West, and particularly Loire-Atlantique. Together, we share common values: caring, authenticity, mutual aid and sharing. The group’s aim is to pool our blogs, skills and audiences to offer local players visibility and cross-fertilization.
In 2022, an important turning point came with our round-the-world trip. During this year of adventure, I took great pleasure in sharing my feelings, photos and experiences through articles and on social networks.
Antony, for his part, prefers to tell the story of his travels in a different way: through informative videos and more journalistic accounts.
Feedback from our followers was unanimous: many said they felt as if they were experiencing the trip through our eyes. Some even confided in us that they were a little sad when the adventure came to an end.
It was then that we realized that sharing and passing on authentic experiences was really part of our adventure.
A few years later, a new experience reinforced this evidence: two months of travel in a converted van. During this interlude of freedom, living, working and traveling together on a daily basis enabled us to naturally blend our respective skills. Between my photography and lifestyle articles, and Antony’s podcasts and videos, this adventure made us want to go further in creating content together, and develop projects around travel, encounters and inspiring lifestyles.
That’s why today on this blog, you’ll find ” Travel ” articles (stories, advice, organization, good addresses…) and ” Lifestyle ” articles where I share my intimacy such as my lack of desire for children, my passions, my encounters with inspiring people, as well as my values such as eco-responsible fashion.
I hope you’ll enjoy reading these pages as much as I enjoyed writing them… and, above all, that you’ll travel a little with me.
Enjoy your reading!
