Let&#8217;s face it, Valencia is a HYPER-pleasant destination for lovers of shopping, beaches, sun and markets. <\/p>\n<p>Less popular than Madrid or Barcelona, it is Spain&#8217;s 3rd largest city.<\/p>\n<p>Served by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.volotea.com\/fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Volotea<\/a>, a low-cost airline in name only given the quality of its service, and only 1h45 from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nantes.aeroport.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Nantes<\/a>, Valencia has everything to make you want to come back and visit.<\/p>\n<p>Here are the highlights that made the city my &#8220;coup de c\u0153ur&#8221; long-weekend getaway:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Accessibility<\/strong>: the city does its utmost to make your stay easy for tourists who want to get around quickly and without headaches. As soon as you arrive at the airport, the metro is ready to take you to the city center in less than 30 minutes. After that, the metro and buses are within easy reach, serving the whole city and the surrounding area. The best thing to do if you&#8217;re planning your trip is to buy the 72h00 card, which allows you to get around without having to buy tickets (with the exception of the bus to Bonaire shopping center, but we&#8217;ll talk about that later).   <\/li>\n<li><strong>Shopping<\/strong>: girls, if you&#8217;re like me and shopping has become an addiction, Valencia is going to be one of your favorite destinations. Zara, Stradivarius, Primark, Pull &#038; Bear and all your favorite brands can be found in the city, at lower prices than in France! In this respect, I&#8217;d recommend a visit to the &#8220;<strong> Calle de Jorge Juan<\/strong> &#8220;.  <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-1092 size-full\" title=\"A weekend in Valence, the city of 1000 facets | Jupette &#038; Salopette\" src=\"https:\/\/jupetteetsalopette.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/un-week-end-a-Valence1.jpg\" alt=\"A weekend in Valence, the city of 1000 facets | Jupette &#038; Salopette\" width=\"795\" height=\"447\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jupetteetsalopette.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/un-week-end-a-Valence1.jpg 795w, https:\/\/jupetteetsalopette.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/un-week-end-a-Valence1-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/jupetteetsalopette.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/un-week-end-a-Valence1-768x432.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 795px) 100vw, 795px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This street is full of pleasant surprises, including some typically Valencian stores, beautifully laid out and decorated. The ones that particularly caught my eye were the following: <strong>Hipster<\/strong>, very fresh and girly. The store offers products in pastel and colorful tones that smell of spring and summer. My second favorite is <strong>Brownie<\/strong>. Right from the entrance, the storefront offers trendy, modern looks, and inside, it&#8217;s hard to resist the trendy tops, T-shirts and shorts. On the same street, you&#8217;ll come face to face with <strong>the &#8220;Mercado Colon&#8221;,<\/strong> a Spanish-style market just the way we like it (and we&#8217;d love to find this concept in France!). You&#8217;ll want to stroll through the market and stop for a glass of &#8220;zumo&#8221; in one of the bars, again, beautifully decorated. Yes, the people of Valencia have great taste! Decorations in shop windows, bars and restaurants are always authentic and original.        <\/p>\n<p>And the town also has a nice surprise in store: a shopping center just an hour&#8217;s bus ride from Valence that&#8217;s well worth a visit: <a href=\"http:\/\/bonaire.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">BONAIRE<\/a>. To get there, you&#8217;ll have to take a yellow bus and pay a different ticket from your card (less than \u20ac5 each way). Once there, it&#8217;s magical! A huge open-air shopping mall awaits you. This is where you&#8217;ll find Primark. Once you&#8217;ve had a good walk and made your first purchases, it&#8217;s time for a bite to eat. Bonaire&#8217;s Food Gallery is located between Bonaire and a second, smaller center dedicated to outlets for Mango, Adidas, Nike and other big-name brands.      <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-1093 size-full\" title=\"A weekend in Valence, the city of 1000 facets | Jupette &#038; Salopette\" src=\"https:\/\/jupetteetsalopette.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/un-week-end-a-Valence2.jpg\" alt=\"A weekend in Valence, the city of 1000 facets | Jupette &#038; Salopette\" width=\"795\" height=\"447\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jupetteetsalopette.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/un-week-end-a-Valence2.jpg 795w, https:\/\/jupetteetsalopette.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/un-week-end-a-Valence2-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/jupetteetsalopette.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/un-week-end-a-Valence2-768x432.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 795px) 100vw, 795px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A change of scenery is guaranteed in this place designed with containers where you can choose to enjoy your lunch according to your desires: street food, salad, tapas, world food&#8230; The choice is varied and once you&#8217;ve made your selection, all that&#8217;s left to do is enjoy your meal on the picnic tables set up in the middle of the Food Gallery.<br \/>\nYou&#8217;ll even have the right if you happen to bump into a band playing music at the right moment! It&#8217;s like being in the USA! <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Culture<\/strong>: long renowned for its beaches, sea and sun, Valencia is now renowned for its cultural wealth, its Fallas festival and its spectacular City of Arts and Sciences. Between the old town with its cathedral and St Graal and the City of Arts, Valencia is full of sights. Don&#8217;t hesitate to take the time to stroll through Valencia&#8217;s historic center. You&#8217;ll notice the predominance of Gothic-style buildings, such as the former silk exchange, a UNESCO World Heritage site, the Palacio de la Generalitat and the cathedral. In the latter, it&#8217;s essential to climb to the top of the tower, which offers a superb panoramic view of Valencia. A visit to the interior of the cathedral reveals the Chapel of the Holy Grail. On your way out, don&#8217;t miss the magnificent Plaza de la Reina, or Queen&#8217;s Square. For families, the spectacular City of Arts and Sciences is an enchantment, with Europe&#8217;s largest aquarium.
